When it becomes 1.0.8 beta (or other variant).
Out of 4 forum softwares, panther suites my needs.
No idea where to post this. Just a general Panther discussion.

Well, that's great news! smile

Anything in particular you think stands out about Panther?

No idea where to post this. Just a general Panther discussion.

Thanks- I've made a general discussion forum and I'll move this topic there smile

Kind regards,
Christopher Marshall

Having a forum to talk about Panther in general is a good touch. Thanks.
I am retired, have all the time in the world for testing.
Not that I am super old (born November 1964).

No problem - thanks for the suggestion! smile

We should have 1.0.8 ready within the week. Though it may well be delayed, separating the HTML into templates is not an easy job ...

You can view the progress currently here: https://gitlab.com/vank1ta/Panther/tree … e/template

Testing will be only option for now. Learning PHP on my own, thats a very slow process, not going to be any good for coding (mods, etc).
When available, I'll have a link to my testing forum (a day or 2) after installing.

Well, it's been a while but I've suddenly stumbled across this topic now. Apologies for not replying here - I somehow seem to have missed this.

What did you think of Panther? We'd love to hear any feedback about it. smile

Yeah - we've had a lot of improvements, including Twig now for a template system. Any feedback? smile

Glad you like the style! Courtesy of our very own weks. big_smile

Twig is a powerful and fast template system to separate the HTML and PHP from each other and put it in template files. See: http://twig.sensiolabs.org/

Very well done Weks.

Anyways, when I ran a beta, could never view topics, let alone post any topics, don't recall errors then.

We might not have had the error handler in back then - the reason for adding in the error handler was to improve and enhance the coding standards of the forum, to find more bugs quicker, and to really ensure that the forum complies with error reporting E_ALL - under any server environment.

See the changelog here: https://gitlab.com/PantherForum/Panther … ANGELOG.md

There have been a shed-load of bugs fixed since then, and even more are getting fixed right now. We're also including more enhancements such as an attachments section in your profile.

This really is your forum for more quality, stay tuned for more amazing updates. smile

Hmm, may have to get hosting again, just so I can try it.
Actually liking everything I see from my stand point as a member.

Glad you like everything - that is reassuring to know.

Some of the style is subject to change over the following days, and we're continuing to patch bugs introduced through Twig. But as a forum, this is the first stable release and everything works now.

Kind regards,
Christopher Marshall

One of these days, people that I go through hosting at gonna hate me, this is the 2nd time this month put in for cancellation and cancelled removal of said account.
