Can't find any language files from 1.0.8 with ANSI encoding. Was this a fresh install of 1.0.9 you tried?

1.0.8 is ready translated - so I had time to make a look at 1.0.9.
And yes, there are ANSI encoded files yet - will make a full list.

Yes, we were debugging the main site and we left it on, we're about to update it again so we'll leave it for a bit longer too.

Great - let me know when you have the files and I'll make sure the encoding of them is correct.

Could you send me the German translation files once complete? I'll add it to the core.

Kind regards,

Yeah will do it. But I have seen there are some modifications for 1.0.9 - want to add these to lang files before.

Thanks.

Additionally there are a few modifications to 1.1.0, but these are mostly adding or removing %s for sprintf. I'll make these modifications through if I can, as it's sitting on my hard drive at the moment.

I know I'm out of time ... had a lot of trouble last year (job, family, health) sad.

Have now pushed my P108 translation to P111 ... but now (P112) there are only .po lang files. The switch make it a lot more difficult to compare lang files to find differences.

Chris, have you a phparray formated version of default lang files for P112 yet? Or a diff? So I can better see what was changed.

After that I can transform my lang files also to .po and push it to P113 wink.

Hi cyberman

I appreciate the time you've taken to get back to me. No worries about how long it's taken, but I hope things are going better for you now.

Chris, have you a phparray formated version of default lang files for P112 yet? Or a diff? So I can better see what was changed.

While we don't have an official diff facility here yet, it will be implemented shortly. I'm currently working on converting phpBB 3.1 and it's about 60 (ish) % complete at the moment just on raw data.

Once I've finished this then I will make it my priority to create a diff-facility on the panther website. In the meantime, the new language system does parse the *.po files and generate a cache for them in PHP arrays. This can be found in the folder cache/languages/*/*.php.

While it isn't exactly the same as the older versions as it's based on the new caching system, I do hope that this is slightly easier for now. Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help or make it easier in any way.

Kind regards,
Christopher Marshall

have seen it on my "translation console": Some of your lang files are ANSI encoded, and some files are in UTF8.

By the way - some of current .po files (en) are ANSI encoded...

Thank you. Not sure how this happened, but it will be sorted in the next version, anyway!

Ok, I'm ready big_smile ... here comes my XMas present for Panther community - the german translation.

Works for me. Feel free to reply with errors, bugs, mistakes (or something else).

That's wonderful news! I've been trying to add multiple language packs to try with the new language locales (en_GB .etc.), this will be a great addition. Thank you very much!

I'll test this with the latest version and keep you up-to-date with everything that does/doesn't work. Thank you - and have a wonderful Christmas! smile

Very, very few. Though the release has only really just been started. But I wouldn't expect loads unless we have to this version for something.

It's more of an optimisation and extended functionality (e.g. config.xml for styles, language display names .etc.) rather than new features such as the gallery avatar which will be added.

It will be focussing on the templates slightly, but mainly on the PHP code. I'll also try with the Persian language pack I have and keep you up to date. smile

And I can also promise the diff tool on this website for language files before the next release is made.

French lang package would be great too - FluxBB has a big french user base. See a chance some forums could be moved to Panther big_smile.

That would be fantastic. I know weks was doing a language pack for French, I'm not sure how far it ever got though as he's also essentially "all" our styling team. big_smile

Hopefully it will be finished by the next release. By that time we'll have a dedicated section on our website up and running to handle language pack uploads.

Unfortunately there is no official diff facility yet, this will be done in the re-design of our website, which should be happening shortly. It will point out exactly which lines in all the language files have changed though, without needing to upload anything and just by selecting the version to compare to/from.

That is the current plan, but it will definitely be very easy to compare language packs when added - however it is done in the end.

Kind regards,
Christopher Marshall

Have completely translated all .po files, also convert.po.

But if I'm starting a convert process there's no translation sad.

Ok, convert.po I've translated was located inside /lang/de ... now I know convert.po must be moved to /convert/languages/de big_smile

Works now...

Sorry, that's only temporary until 1.1.4 where the language files inside the converter itself will start working (multiple language directories will then be supported).
