Have ported sometimes ago a (slim) mod named Response check(for FluxBB) - this mod prevents if another new message was posted while writing a response and will give a warning.

https://fluxbb.org/resources/mods/response-check/

In my opinion it's a must have for every forum with higher traffic.

What do you think?

I think we should definitely have an extension for this, and with the size of the adjustments it will be very easy to make.

But I'm not sure about putting it into the core, it just doesn't seem quite right somehow. Not sure whether I'm in the minority there or not, but if you're subscribed to the topic, this does mean you'll get an email regarding the next post even if you're online, and if you're subscribed to the RSS/Atom feed, you (might?) be notified.

Kind regards,

Sorry, seems my description was too slim wink.

Example - there's a new topic/post in forum. Now I want to give an answer. But another user is answering the question at the same time and click the "Send" button five seconds earlier than I.

In result of the mod I got a note in dashboard that someone has written an answer yet so I could proof, modify or kill my answer.

Find this really useful cause the chance to give an answer with similar content will be minimized.

I still feel this would be better suited to an extension. While this is a good idea, and I can see a use for it, I'm not sure this fits right with the forum. We can make an extension by all means - an din fact, if I have time I'll even make this myself, but I just don't feel this is right in the core, I'm not really sure why.

Kind regards,

Is there anywhere an overview around the available hooks?

Find another editor error on writing this

Example:

1. chief:cool:
2. chief cool

Right, I mean the space between last word and smiley.

In wysiwyg mode I see a smiley but not after parsing/saving post hmm.

Is there anywhere an overview around the available hooks?

We don't have documentation on hooks as of yet, but this is something we're going to add at the end of beta (we're hoping to add many more hooks in during this time)

But we do have docs on addons. See: https://www.get-aura.org/docs/1-develop … xtensions/

That's more of a parser error, but at the same time I'm unsure whether it actually is an error. The parser only parses text (the same on FluxBB) if the bbcode has a space between the text and the emoticon. I'm not sure whether this is a bug, or by design.

We will try to make docs on the location of hooks.

Am I blind or is currently no information about that?

Find only information about extensions. I'm not a pro so I've currently not idea how to realize this (response check) with an extension.

Sorry, there are still no articles on this. The hooks system is not "finalised" so to speak, because I want to try and change how hooks are triggered (at the moment we're using eval()).

After this is done the extensions system will be given a much more complete overview. There will be many more articles coming in the new year as well. smile

I'll personally make this extension and upload it to the extensions repository once the site is re-designed.

Kind regards,

Too bad.

Have a lot of such mods inside my FluxBB ... if I cant transform these to Panther I can not move to Panther sad.

Think you know I really appreciate your work.

Don't worry - when you convert your forum let me know exactly what extensions you have from FluxBB and I can create these for Panther as well.

That way, they'll constantly be maintained and get security releases .etc. In a few releases time, I'm planning (though not yet confirmed) to even add in a system to update extensions and styles automatically as they are released.

But for the moment, I' just trying to concentrate on the next release, then site re-design. smile
